Overview
The year of 1912 saw the opening of the 5 star deluxe Hotel Astoria, forging from that moment on close links with St. Petersburg. One of the oldest hotels in the city, Hotel Astoria has recently been accepted a a member of the prestigious worldwide organisation "The Leading Hotels of the World" and is undoubtedly one of the most elegant luxury hotels in the world. Accommodation
Astoria rooms and suites are comfortably furnished in the simple, but elegant, style that has now become synonymous with the Rocco Forte Hotels brand. Just refurbished rooms combine Russian ambience and Western decor and luxuries. All of 232 rooms are air conditioned, have marble bathrooms and are fitted with the latest facilities including minibar, direct dial telephone, voice mail, Internet connection unit, private safe, satellite and cable TV, pay TV. Many rooms also have stunning views over St Isaac's Square, the Monument of Nicholas I and the Mariinsky Palace.
Meeting Facilities
The Astoria offers for your disposal excellent conference and banqueting facilities that can fit any occasion. Conference and banqueting suites range from small intimate Shaliapin meeting room to Ballroom and famous Winter Garden hall with their mirrors, columns and crystal chandeliers that can be joined to welcome a reception for 450 quests or seated function for 350 people. Whatever your requirements, the professional hotel team will be happy to help you plan a tailor-made event to remember. Our customers are welcome to use conference facilities of the adjacent Angleterre hotel that include Congress Hall (amphitheatre) for 205 guests equipped with simultaneous translation system for four languages and five smaller meeting rooms.
Restaurants and Bars
Davidov's restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Hotel Astoria and overlooks St. Isaac's Cathedral. Its unique spirit of tranquillity, confidence and comfort are nicely complemented by a menu which includes fine dishes of traditional Russian and international cuisine. One of the greatest temptations at Davidov's is the Caviar and Vodka Bar. Each evening, beginning at 7.30 pm, a gypsy trio performs. On Fridays from 6 pm to 10 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 10 pm, the restaurant presents the 'Russian Table' - an imperial selection of snacks, a perfect main course, desserts, tea, coffee, free-flowing beer and 250 gr. of Flagman vodka - a buffet lunch and dinner at fixed price.
Leisure Facilities
A new gym equipped with the latest machines for aerobic and anaerobic exercise is at your disposal 24 hours a day.
2003 saw the culmination of the redesign with the addition of a spa that includes sauna, steam and four treatment rooms offering Aromatherapy, Swedish, Sports, and Back, Neck and Shoulder Massages. Appointments are taken from 10:00 with the last treatment to finish no later than 21:00.
